Resources I use for Bulgarian
There is not a lot of material to find beyond Colloquial and Teach Yourself. I was very lucky to be in touch with a Bulgarian teacher, who sent me an A2 course of UNHCR, aimed at refugees. What else did I find?
- Intensive Bulgarian (2 books) - a very good, extensive grammar of Bulgarian, with exercises and heaps of vocabulary. If you ever consider learning Bulgarian, order this book!
- A Bulgarian A2 course, by UNHCR - it was available for free on the internet, but it has been taken off, so I saw recently. Unfortunately, because this is a fun resource with drawings and very hands-on dialogues. You learn a lot without realising you do.
- Italki - there are a few good teachers if you like conversations.
- Fairytales - I like reading and try to incorporate it into my language learning. Ran Bosilek is a famous Bulgarian writer and I have 2 of his books.
- Colloquial Bulgarian - the famous resource.
- Teach Yourself Bulgarian - of course this series has a Bulgarian coursebook! I like it.
- YouTube - what I also do to practice listening skills, is listening to random channels and videos - cooking is a good topic to start with (at least for me).
