Resources I use for Spanish
My Spanish level has gone up quite a bit the past year (in 2020) thanks to my super italki teacher. She challenges me to go beyond what I think I can do and this is the best way to learn and improve. Of all the resources below I only really use Aula and Netflix.
- Gente Hoy 1 and 2 - we used these books at school. I really liked them. Nice lay-out, concise grammar explanations and they come with a workbook.
- Aula Internacional - I have ordered books 3-5 to study at home. They are very good and I can recommend them.
- Ele B1 and C1 - we used B1 at school and I ordered the C1 to study at home. I haven't started yet, but hope to do so soon.
- Gramatica de uso - I have both books, good for a C2 level. Thematic, with a table of contents, so you can pick the topic you want and study that.
- Modern Spanish Grammar - I am ashamed but I haven't used this book at all.
- Course made by the teacher - one year, the teacher decided not to have us buy a book. Instead she made her own course. Not for sale anywhere, but it is very good for a B1 level!
- Italki - for Spanish, this has really helped me a lot. I have a very good teacher (Susi - in case you want to know). She tailors the lessons to my needs, sometimes I tell her in advance what I would like to work on. Thanks to her, my active level has gone up quickly.
- Media - anything from Netflix to YouTube, books (I order from Spain), online newspapers, tv. The great thing is that my Spanish level is very good so I can just enjoy the language.
- Bescherelle - a complete overview of all verb conjugations in all tenses.
